Hello my friends
and what glorous weather we are having! I've been walking/running Dakota on our 3 mile route as early as 6.45am and it's just lovely...long may it continue. Of course it's also making me have to water my vegetable garden which, until Dad arrived looked terribly unprofessional. Then he took it in hand and in a flurry of pitch forks, compost, stakes, string and fertilizer he turned into something that I don't recognise!!! All the same I'm telling everyone who admires it that I did it - don't tell on me though :-)
I enjoyed my first July 4th as a US Citizen. The neighbors presented me with a US t-shirt, socks and baseball cap so I donned them all and wore them to a party that Doug and I were invited too - and we had a jolly good time too! (thanks Joe and Bobby!)
So this weekend is a big one for me with fun gigs at the Sheraton and the Blue Olive and then a big debut concert in Buffalo with the Buffalo Philharmonic under the direction of Arie Lipsky. I shall be using some music from the Ella Fitzgerald collection arranged by Nelson Riddle so Ill be in good company!
We are playing downtown Kent again this year and many of you have asked me for the date so here it is: Thursday August 13th- bring your lawn chairs, we begin at 7pm.

We had such a GREAT time here last month - much better than before when we've played here.
A very cool venue with a great menu. This place reminds me a lot of Ronnie Scotts which is the premium jazz club in London. It's cozy, classy, a long bar, there are comfy seats, high top tables, low tables, couches - it has a great vibe.
Joining me is the very popular Theron Brown on keyboard, George Lee on bass and Anthony Taddeo on drums. Dance floor available too!
