The Sheraton and Stages, Stages, Stages!!!

Hello to you all! I am back from sunny Arizona oh and it was gloriously sunny too. It was nice to have a tan but it lasted all of two days and now I look like a crocodile:-) BUT I am very happy to be back home even though it is a tad gloomy!

So, what have i been up to? Well i'm studying hard for my Citizenship test which i have to take at 8am on Monday April 6th - yes that's 8AM!!! on MONDAY!! could they have picked a more unattractive time and day i ask you?! Whilst in Arizona Anne helped me out by testing me and also explaining to me all these words that we just don't use in England like 'congress' and many others that i can't think of right now. I'm a bit of a banana when it comes to remembering names so the nice chaps that wrote the federalist papers I still can't recall (and i wonder if you can?!) but when Anne asked me that question last week I said 'well I know one of them was Hamilton!'
'Yes' said Anne, 'but what was his first name?'
'President!' said I - 'that's it, President Hamilton'
She didn't laugh!!!......but I did!
It has actually been very interesting and I think i'm ready for the challange - I've just got to remember that if they ask me when American Independence Day is I don't reply 'Thanksgiving'!!! (it's a Brit joke cause every time July 4th comes around my lovely American pals remind me how glad they are to have got rid of the Brits!!! - love 'em!)
So wish me luck and I'll be sure to let you know what happens.
Coming up this weekend we are at Stages Supper Club on Saturday - something I'd recommend experiencing - it uses the cabaret concept of the American 1930's and 40's and aims and succeeds to bring the New York ambience of the New York music clubs to Cleveland - it's a place one can spend the entire evening, cocktails, dinner, music and dancing :-) Ah bliss!
I'm off to Washington DC next week - another first for me. Mostly work so i'll not be doing much sight seeing and i'll be back on Thursday just in time for Friday April 3rd at Nighttown and then a very exciting FREE afternoon concert at the Packard Music Hall in Warren on Sunday April 5th at 3pm. See below for details.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!
