Buy Helen's CD 'One Dream' !!

The CD was recorded with the fantastic Cleveland Jazz Orchestra playing on 9 tracks and my wonderful quartet on the other 7 (yes that's right you get 17 whole songs to enjoy!)
Rosemary Riddle (Nelson Riddle's daughter) gave me an arrangement of Zing! Went The Strings of my Heart' and gave me permission to record and perform it - what an honor! Apart from Judy Garland, no one has ever recorded this song - the famous Riddle arrangement is fabulous of course!
There are two original songs included on the CD including the title track 'One Dream' which from the feedback i've recieved seems to be really popular.
You may order the CD directly from my web site by clicking on the link below...I promise you won't be dissappointed. This will take you to my web site where you can hear clips from the recording before you decide to buy.

A Little Brit Different at Lakeland Jazz Festival!

So, as I look outside I see that it's snowing and once again I am reminded of that conversation that took place many years ago between my husband Doug and I when I clearly asked him 'how much does it snow in Ohio?' and he said 'it snows for two weeks and then it's gone!'. He is getting his come uppance for that big fat 'porky pie' (that's slang for a lie in England!) though as it seems the story has travelled far and wide and where ever we go right now - particularly as the winter has been so harsh, people are going up to him and saying 'two weeks ha ha ha!' and more comments like that and poor Doug -poor, poor Doug is having to grin and bear the humiliation with absolutely no sympathy from me whatsoever!!! He thinks the joke is tired now and that I should move on to something else........tempting.....but no - I think there's a few more miles in it yet and he knows it!!!
So - I believe the Scene Music Awards are this week and thank you to those who voted for me - I believe the winners will be announced this coming Wednesday so I'll let you know if there's any good news!!
Tonight I will be at Nighttown at 9pm so come and join us if you can - it's very cozy and the food is good!
THE LAKELAND JAZZ FESTIVAL is FRIDAY FEB 27TH
we are very excited about this concert and I'd love it if you can come. Dan Murphy will be on piano, Bryan on bass, Chris Baker on drums and special guest Jack Schantz on trumpet. We'll be playing a veritable feast of good songs and the concert will open with the big band and I'll be doing a song with them too. It's a great festival and it's all very melodious for those of you nervous about jazz - It's me after all !!! So - they'll be humour, good music and fun and I'd love it if I could have as many of my rowdy friends there as possible!!! There's more details below!
SIX SAXOPHONES AND SEXY SINGER!! OR should that me six sexy saxophones and singer? I'm not sure but ANYWAY - NEO Saxtet will be joining me at Nighttown on Sunday March 1st at 7pm. Check out the photo below - we've had a giggle this week as the sax players are miffed that Dan Murphy (who plays piano as most of you know) wiggled his way into the picture and held a saxphone! The horn players are now threatening for the next photo that they are going to do one of two things: Either all of them hold Dan OR, get Dan to hold up his piano!!!!
We first performed with this line up in November at the Bop Stop and I've got to tell you, the sound is so lush, rich and different - it was very cool indeed and you'll get to see about 8 different saxes from the bass sax which you don't see too often and all others inbetween - the boys refer to me as 'the curvy alto'!!!!
Have a lovely weekend and stay warm! More info...
