Buy Helen's CD 'One Dream' !!

The CD was recorded with the fantastic Cleveland Jazz Orchestra playing on 9 tracks and my wonderful quartet on the other 7 (yes that's right you get 17 whole songs to enjoy!)
Rosemary Riddle (Nelson Riddle's daughter) gave me an arrangement of Zing! Went The Strings of my Heart' and gave me permission to record and perform it - what an honor! Apart from Judy Garland, no one has ever recorded this song - the famous Riddle arrangement is fabulous of course!
There are two original songs included on the CD including the title track 'One Dream' which from the feedback i've recieved seems to be really popular.
You may order the CD directly from my web site by clicking on the link below...I promise you won't be dissappointed. This will take you to my web site where you can hear clips from the recording before you decide to buy.

Valentines, Lakeland Jazz Fest and more!

Hi everyone - what a week it's been! I took my first ride on a snow mobile last Sunday - me oh my I swear i'd have lost my hair if I hadn't been wearing a helmet! I should add that I was a passenger on this thing and it was no ordinary snow mobile either! I had imagined a nice jolly jaunt through the fields admiring the snow and the wild life. Jolly jaunt it was NOT! Wade my neighbor, got me all geared up with a helmet and at that point I started to be a tad suspicious. Now Wade has about 10 snow mobiles so whilst I waited he went off to his outbuilding to saddle one up and bring it out. I was excited and doing one of those girlie dances that you do when you're looking forward to something you 've never done before. Doug on the other hand had one of those smug smiles on his face - he looked at me knowingly with a look in his eye that said........well I'm not sure what it said but I chose to ignore it thinking he was just jelous that he wasn't going. I did say 'don't you want to come too?' to which he replied 'no, I'll stay and look after Dakota (the dog)'
'hmmm' i thought 'how noble' but then I got excited again and forgot all about it.
There was a roaring sound coming from the outbuilding and I swear the Star Trek theme started to play as this monstrous snow mobile with Wade on it came gliding out - it's engine throbbing and Wade just a figure in black including a blacked out helmet too. He lifted the visa and said 'get on!' so I closed my visa and did as I was told. It was then that I could see the control panel of this thing and yes - it was indeed THE Star Ship enterprise, cleverly disguised as a snow mobile! -Im' telling you, this thing was lit up like Piccadilly Circus or Times Square to you Yankees! I'll bet infact we could have flown to the moon AND made a cup of tea - there was nothing this thing did not have on it - every bell and whistle you could possibly think of...........except handles for me to hold on to!
Wade said 'hold round my waist' believe me he didn't need to ask twice as we left his yard far faster than I had anticipated and headed across the road towards a very very steep bank that would, if one were able to climb up it, lead to a large field. Well - he didn't turn - I kept thinking he would but he didn't - he just kept heading towards the bank - the really really steep bank that no sane person would ever dream of driving up - especially in a snow mobile - and especially with someone on the back......no - of course he wouldn't do that.
'your'e not - you're not.....YOU'RE NOT!!' Suddenly Wade put his food down HARD on the accelerator 'YOU BLOODY ARRRRREEEEE!' and we went flying up this bank - and literally lifted clear in to the air and landed in the field averaging about 70 miles a bloody hour!! We made it across the full length of this field in less than 10 seconds and I screamed all the way - then we had to lean in to the turn - LEAN INTO THE TURN!!?? you must be kidding! but no and before I knew it we were headed back the other way - straight towards the bank. I tried to stop squealing and breath but I couldn't- it really was exhillerating but so so sooo fast! As the end of the field and that bank that we had flown up got closer and closer I thought to myself 'we are never going to stop in time' but we didn't stop - no we leaned and turned and went back up the field again!
We did the length of the field no less than 4 times and then headed straight at the bank. This time I knew what was coming only instead of going up it - we were going down it. I just buried my head in Wade's back and held on for dear life! Sure enough - down the bank - I must have squashed poor Wade and I was clinging on to him like he was the last human being left on this earth. Then we went over on to his land and flew round the lake - through trees, up banks, down banks - I screamed and screamed and screamed thinking - 'he must think i'm such a girl but I can't stop' 'aaaarrrggghhh!!!'.
Suddenly Wade did stop - I peeled the front of my visa off the back of his coat and looked up. We were back where we started and Doug was laughing his head off!! I swear Dakota was smiling too. My heart was beating so hard I thought it was going to jump out of my ski jacket but boy was that fun!
I've found out since that Wade took Doug for a similar trip and doug has never forgotten it - funny how he forgot to mention it to me though!!!
