The CD was recorded with the fantastic Cleveland Jazz Orchestra playing on 9 tracks and my wonderful quartet on the other 7 (yes that's right you get 17 whole songs to enjoy!)
Rosemary Riddle (Nelson Riddle's daughter) gave me an arrangement of Zing! Went The Strings of my Heart' and gave me permission to record and perform it - what an honor! Apart from Judy Garland, no one has ever recorded this song - the famous Riddle arrangement is fabulous of course!
There are two original songs included on the CD including the title track 'One Dream' which from the feedback i've recieved seems to be really popular.

Good day to you all on this soggy Wednesday!
Oh my gosh there's a lot to tell you today about what's coming up: Nighttown, Russo's, Xmas shows at the Akron Civic then in Warren PA then at Nighttown in Cleveland -not forgetting our early morning appearance on Fox 8 news THIS FRIDAY MORNING!!
I'm just recovering from our first round of Jingle Bell Swing shows in Erie PA which went really well - the audiences in Erie are wonderful and thank you to all who made it through the snow!!! It certainly was a challange driving home on Sunday night that's for sure!
Anyway -onwards we march and Jingle Bell Swing will be at the Akron Civic in no time at all - Dec 19th - mark your calendars! Then we move on to Warren PA on Dec 20th and on Sunday the 21st we will perform a scaled down version - every bit as good though at Nighttown WITH the Solon Show Choir who will sing around the tables - i think that is going to be a lot of fun! There will be 2 shows at Nighttown - one at 5pm and one at 7.30pm - after the 7.30pm show which will end at around 8.45 i intend to 'let my hair down' a bit!!! So - for anyone who comes to Nighttown that night - I hope you'll join Doug and I and the band: Dan, Bryan and Chris in a little pre-Christmas celebration!
This week I am excited to tell you that Kenny Harkins will once again be joining me at Nighttown on Friday night. Kenny was Frank Sinatra's accompanist for 9 years and it's a treat to hear him play. Joining Kenny and I will be the wonderful Roy King on drums and Marty Block (whom many of you met at the Sheraton last time we were there) on bass.
Then Saturday night we play at a new venue - Russo's (see below for details). For those of you that know Russo's we are not playing in the restaurant - they have built a very nice, intimate room at the back of the restaurant and that's where we'll be. You can have dinner in the restaurant and then come through OR you can eat from a more limited menu in the music room itself. Hope to see you there!
FOX 8 NEWS THIS FRIDAY MORNING!
Friday morning myself and the Solon Show Choir, Music in Motion will be on Fox 8 News!!! Our first slot is at 7.45am then we have 4 further slots between 8am and 9am so tune in if you can!! I have to get up at 4.30am to be there so spare a thought for all of us!!!!
