Buy Helen's CD 'One Dream' !!

The CD was recorded with the fantastic Cleveland Jazz Orchestra playing on 9 tracks and my wonderful quartet on the other 7 (yes that's right you get 17 whole songs to enjoy!)
Rosemary Riddle (Nelson Riddle's daughter) gave me an arrangement of Zing! Went The Strings of my Heart' and gave me permission to record and perform it - what an honor! Apart from Judy Garland, no one has ever recorded this song - the famous Riddle arrangement is fabulous of course!
There are two original songs included on the CD including the title track 'One Dream' which from the feedback i've recieved seems to be really popular.
You may order the CD directly from my web site by clicking on the link below...I promise you won't be dissappointed. This will take you to my web site where you can hear clips from the recording before you decide to buy.

Columbus, Nighttown, The Bop Stop and Xmas

Hi there gang
Wow! a straight forward week for me since I last saw you apart from the one morning when I walked my husky Dakota round our 3 mile morning trek of the block and I was followed home by the most gorgeous little puppy I'd ever laid eyes on.
She was bright eyed, with a black tail that had a white tip (like it was a candle!) and she had a collar on so I thought maybe she was lost. However, I was a little worried as, living in the boonies as we do, people are apt to dump any unwanted dogs, puppys and kittens at any time of the day or night. All my neighbors have fished strays out of their swimming pools, or in our case - the pond - or, also in our case - out of the jaws of Dakota lying in wait for any tasty cat that might pass by! (please note that huskies have a pathalogical hatred of cats!)
So - this pup followed us for 3 miles and eventually ended up in my kitchen having her breakfast with a rather miffed looking Dakota wondering how - during his peaceful morning stroll we had managed to aquire this black and white bundle of bounce! And believe me, she bounced! She'd run up to a poor unsuspecting Dakota and litterally leap with both front paws and land on his head!! She tried desperately to make friends but he was having none of it (he's 13 by the way and use to a quiet life apart from me practising my singing which he doesn't mind too much - depending on the song!)
So - Doug and I put posters up everywhere hoping that her owner would come and get her but it was not to be. I made one BIG mistake. Whilst we were waiting for someone to come and claim her - I fell in love with her.
After much discussion we decided that we couldn't keep her as we are just not at home enough for a little bundle of bouncing energy such as she was and she was such a cutey she deserved a good home with a family and people who'll spend time with her. We eventually (with tears in our eyes) took her to the WONDERFUL APL which we were blown away with. They have the most AMAZING facility and the animals really have a home there (as oppose to a cage) until they are adopted. They told us that they adopt out approx 30 animals a month which really impressed me! We told them that if she didn't get adopted within 3 weeks that they were to call us. However, i'm so certain she will find a home - it took me about a week to get over her going on the other hand it took Dakota about 5 minutes! He was pretty pleased that life had returned to normal and he was now back to being the centre of our universe!!
So life has returned to normal again and i'm rehearsing hard as - I'm in Columbus next week for a week's worth of shows at the Southern Theatre. Before that you can catch me at Nighttown this FRiday and check out the up coming gig at the Bop Stop with the newly formed NEO Saxtet - no less than SIX saxophones along with Dan on piano, a bass and drummer and yours truly on vocals. The sound is very rich and different - we had our first rehearsal the other day so come and check that concert out if you can.
Much love and hope to see you soon!
