Buy Helen's CD 'One Dream' !!

The CD was recorded with the fantastic Cleveland Jazz Orchestra playing on 9 tracks and my wonderful quartet on the other 7 (yes that's right you get 17 whole songs to enjoy!)
Rosemary Riddle (Nelson Riddle's daughter) gave me an arrangement of Zing! Went The Strings of my Heart' and gave me permission to record and perform it - what an honor! Apart from Judy Garland, no one has ever recorded this song - the famous Riddle arrangement is fabulous of course!
There are two original songs included on the CD including the title track 'One Dream' which from the feedback i've recieved seems to be really popular.
You may order the CD directly from my web site by clicking on the link below...I promise you won't be dissappointed. This will take you to my web site where you can hear clips from the recording before you decide to buy.

Forward to a Friend

The new fridge!!

Good morning, afternoon or evening to you all where ever you may be! I've just had to pay my respects to my old fridge (you call them refrigerators but us Brits call them a fridge!) cause it finally gave up the ghost around Thursday of last week. Yes, after 25 good years of service, door slamming, fridge magnets being stuck to it - things being spilt on it, a couple of repair jobs, many bottles of beer and wine being stored and un-stored in it!, the door being 'persuaded' to shut cause Helen's got too much food in it! - it finally breathed it's last breath and went to the sparkly kitchen in the sky. Actually I think Doug was more upset than I cause this fridge has been a pal and a constant in his life for much longer than it's been in mine. I mean, there was a time before I came along - we'll call it BH (before Helen!)when all that fridge had in it was beer....and why not when the guy who owned it, didn't, or should I say doesn't cook!!! So, I tried to make their parting as quick and as painless as possible! On Sunday we spent a thrilling day fridge shopping- oh yes, it doesn't get more exciting than that. I had no idea there were so many options, colours (who would buy a 'bisque' coloured fridge I ask myself?) sizes, ice makers, gadgets, tv's installed into the doors (can you believe it?!) and goodness knows what else! What I wanted was a fridge with the freezer part at the bottom. I mean, that made more sense to me cause I spend 90% of my time in the fridge. Well the gleaming thing arrived yesterday much to my relief. I tried not to be too excited in the wake of Doug's misery at losing his 'old pal'. This new model looks pretty similar to the last 'old soldier' so that made things a little easier for Doug. I painstakingly placed everything in the new fridge marvelling at the useless....I mean usefull gadgets, bottle holder, egg holder - something else holder (no idea what it's suppose to hold!) the freezer at the bottom so now the beer is at waist height and so much easier to get at!! (I think that's it's best feature myself!) - all the compartments that fit into the door -it was all pretty exciting and I did find myself doing a little victory dance around the kitchen singing 'I got a new fridge, I got a new fridge' - Doug was not amused. I even took to opening the door of the new fridge who's light inside is so bright it rather reminds me of a spotlight - and us singers just can't resisit a good spot light. So I was throwing open the new fridge door yelling 'Ta Daaaaah'.....strangely enough, Doug didn't find that funny either:-) So, last night when I returned from teaching - I walked into the kitches and decided to open a bottle of wine. I poured two glasses and asked Doug if he would join me in the kitchen. We held our wine glasses high and and I said 'To the new fridge....and all who sail in her' to which Doug added ' to my old pal- may you go to the sparkly kitchen in the sky' I replied 'here here!'. All is well! Have a good week everyone! Helen xx More info...
