What did I wear??!!
BIG WEEKEND AHEAD EVERYONE - READ ON!
THANK YOU to you all for emailing me last week in response to my 'article' about my day at Jacob's Field. I've now learned of course that it's not Jacob's Field but Progressive Field....oops! Thank you for that correction -I can't keep up with the changing names of these ball fields!
I also realised that I didn't tell you what I wore and soooooo many of you responded by saying 'what a great story Helen BUT WHAT DID YOU WEAR???'
Well 'twas a game time decision (ha ha ha!) and lets just say it was a good job it was warm cause cause Plan A was a lovely dress should the weather be nice and Plan B was................well,.......I didn't actually have a Plan B!!!
The day as you know dawned bright and sunny after many many days of rain so I woke up, looked out of the window and breathed a sigh of relief as I looked at my dress hanging there ready!
It was a very pretty silk, halter neck dress that my lovely Mummy bought me a while back and I thought as she had bought it it would bring me luck!
And I think it did. I shall try and get some photos of the day and put them in next week's newsletter.
Only one person had some concern and that was my hubby Douglas who was wildly waving at me from behind his video camera (whilst standing on the ball field) trying to make sure I kept at least one of my arms down against the dress so I didn't end up doing a Marilyn Monroe!! All was well and the wind behaved itself!!
Several of you also suggested I should persue a writing career either along side the singing or when I retire from singing - thank you for that! I do love to write and I'm glad you enjoy my ramblings.
My Dad flew home on Tuesday - it's always sad to see him walk into the airport. He arrived home safely and has slept for the last 2 days to recover! He says next time he'll come for a month!
BIG WEEKEND ahead of us starting tonight at Nighttown, tomorrow at Crossings and then the wonderful winery Gervasi in Canton on Sunday - read on!
The CD is coming along nicely - hoping to release it sometime at the end of September all being well!

Join us on the patio at this gorgeous new winery in Canton. You've not seen anything like it - believe me! Doug and I visited (all in the name of research you understand!!) and were blown away by this great new addition to Canton:-) There is nothing like it around Cleveland, Akron, kent and such - believe me we've been to a few wineries in the area.
No reservations are being taken and if for some reason all the chairs are taken you are welcome to bring a rug and sit on the grass.
If it rains we'll be inside which is just as lovely :-)
