March is here!!
Hello everyone!.....and welcome to all my new subscribers :-)
I've just spent a wonderful Saturday in Ashland singing with the Ashland Symphony and there I met many new friends who have joined this very exclusive mailing list!
So - we have arrived in March and so far the house is still standing. We've had several 'avalanches' of snow off the roof. One was so bad it took the entire gutter off the side of the house plus all the bird feeders AND mashed a wooden post on the deck! I'm just glad i wasn't standing out there at the time!!! We are on the right side of winter now though and it won't be long before we'll start to see daffodils....i've forgotten what grass looks like haven't you?
This Friday I have a treat for you if you would like to come to Nighttown. Joining us this week will be Kenny Harkins on piano. Kenny as many of you know was Frank Sinatra's pianist for no less than 9 years in Las Vegas and it's just a treat to have him join us. Also on stage will be my dear friend Bryan Thomas on bass and the fabulous Roy King on drums. There is NO cover charge so please come and enjoy!
March is a quiet-ish month for me which is quite good cause April is MAD with shows in Hamilton, Dayton, Cleveland with the Cleveland Jazz Orchestra and a few more besides.
In the mean time I have a mountain of goodies to eat because on Saturday night, after the concert, the Ashland symphony hold a reception for the audience with drinks and food. Luckily for me there was lots of goodies left over in the shape of brownies, cakes, pecan-sticky-yummy things, lemon cakes and oh my goodness........a minute on the lips a lifetime on the hips!! On a cold winter night what could be better than a steaming mug of English tea and lots of chocolate :-) If Doug is lucky I might share some but don't tell him!
