TWO amazing concerts THIS WEEK!
Hope you're enjoying this sweltering heat!!
I had to ride my friend Lisa's horse Dunkin' last Sunday. He was FULL of himself and hadn't appeared to receieve the memo that it was a hot day! I rode him the indoor arena but apparently he thought we were on the race track!! I should add that he hasn't raced for years but again - maybe he was having grand illusions of returning to his racing career! By the time I'd finished riding him I was so hot I thought I was going to self-combust!!
Saturday was fun and warm at the Tri C Jazz Festival. What an awesome event to be a part of and it was great to see so many familiar faces - thank you for braving the heat!!
PACKARD CONCERTS: JULY 4TH and JULY 7th as part of the Packard Legacy Weekend (see video here!)
This week most people are on holiday except for me but I don't mind in the least! Tonight I rehearse with the most incredible concert band - the W.D Packard Concert Band BUT with added rhythm section. This is a concert band on speed let me tell you!! Directed by the ever enthusiastic Steven Gage whom I could watch for hours. His passion for music knows no bounds and he truly is amazing to work with.We perform on Wednesday in Warren; outside in the park if the weather behaves and inside the fantasic Packard Concert Hall if it does not! Bring your lawn chairs - there is ample parking, it's super organized, the park is glorious, bring picnics and there is the most INCREDIBLE FIREWORKS DISPLAY at the end of the concert. IT'S FREE AND OPEN to the public.
Friday I shall be rehearsing with the equally talented Big Band Sound of Packard. This is an 18 piece big band and together on Saturday night July 7th we shall be performing 'Swinging' on Broadway!' at 7.30pm. Again this event is in Packard park which is attached to the Packard Concert Hall. It's free, there is ample free parking in the Packard Concert Hall parking lot. Bring your lawn chairs and enjoy this great band!
It's a busy, musical week for me!
Happy 4th to you all and hope to see you soon!
